Flowers of Faith #1

This 'portrait series' was inspired in part by a Wilmette Institute course based on Chris Buck's book "God & Apple Pie: Religious Myths and Visions of America." The gallery consists of eleven religions/belief systems portrayed as flowering plants, each with a unique color scheme. Each religion/belief system is associated with three virtues, and three related quotations from the writings of that faith. This is the first gallery. As none of the virtues can be owned by any one religion, we will be rotating them so that in the long run, quotations from all the faiths, for each virtue, will be identified. If you would like to submit a quotation for a particular virtue from your own Faith, please feel free to post it in the comments below, or send email to [email protected] The art (drawings) for all of these images comes from 'The Language of Flowers Coloring Book' published by Dover Publications. Dover has an excellent collection of coloring books. Here is the URL for their 'nature' books: http://store.doverpublications.com/by-subject-coloring-books-nature-coloring.html
